Moving from Mackenzie, BC to Williams Lake just a few years ago, Leslie Mahar wasn't sure what to expect of her new community. What she found were fabulous, friendly people who welcomed her and her children to the community with open arms. "I've met so many fantastic people here and made some great new friends," says Leslie, adding, "Williams Lake is a wonderful, family-friendly community."

Leslie has always been creative and crafty. She is no stranger to managing her own business, either, although having a business that deals in hand-made baby items is a bit of a recent change for her. She has owned other businesses, including a house-painting company. "I always knew that I wanted to be in business for myself," Leslie says. But now that she has children, Leslie decided that a home-based business would be best. Leslie loves that she's able to do something that she really feels passionate about and is able to be home to meet her kids' needs at the same time.

Leslie is proud of the quality of the items that she makes. She always chooses the highest-quality fabrics and materials for the items that she makes and strives to create things that are unique and not like everyday baby products you'd find in a big box store. For Leslie, making things is both a job and a hobby, but sometimes she switches it up and works on stamping and scrapbooking projects. But what she likes to do with her free time more than anything is hang out with her family.
