Meet Christine Fernandez
Like many before her, Christine Fernandez knew a good thing when she saw it, making the transition from big city dweller to small town adventurer. She happily gave up the concrete jungle for a slower pace of life on her now sprawling farmstead acreage, complete with horses, cows, chickens, cats and dogs. Christine now enjoys regular trips to the local lakes and rivers for fishing, or hitting the countless trails on horseback. In order to make a go of an adventurous life in Northern BC, small business was in her sights, and with years of experience as a professional stylist, it was time to take the reigns of entrepreneurship with purpose. In 2016 Christine saw her vision to reality with the creation of her first barbershop she dubbed The Man Cave. Business was a booming success, and it quickly became apparent that additional floor space and staff were needed. “I have always loved doing hair,” says Christine. “I love being a barber because it gives me the ability to make someone feel amazing and confident about themselves no matter what they have been through.”
