Meet Kimberly Futcher
Meet Kimberly Futcher
Kimberly Futcher grew up in the Cariboo and has lived in various places in northern BC's interior throughout her lifetime. But Williams Lake has always been "home" to Kimberly, who recently moved back to the community after spending several years in Vanderhoof. She wasn't sure what to expect of her hometown, but was delighted to see that so many wonderful changes had occurred since she last lived in Williams Lake. "A lot of new businesses have come into the community since I was younger," Kimberly says. In fact, she adds, "there is a lot to offer here in Williams Lake."
Kimberly has been an entrepreneur and business owner for many years, but only got into the formal wear business a few years ago. It was a much different kind of business than she had previously been involved in (hunting and fishing lodges), but it was born out of sheer necessity. Kimberly was getting married and was having a hard time finding an affordable gown in Northern BC. She began realizing that if she was having this problem, there must be others who were too, and that led her to open up a home-based formal wear business out of her Vanderhoof home.
When she moved to Williams Lake, she brought her inventory with her, not certain what she would do with it once she arrived. But it soon became clear that she needed to start her own formal wear business once again, this time with her very own downtown Williams Lake storefront. Few things give Kimberly a bigger thrill than when she is able to track down the perfect wedding gown or grad dress for a client. Knowing that such occasions are once-in-a-lifetime events, Kimberly always strives to go the extra mile to help her clients look and feel beautiful, and their smiles are always her best reward.
