Meet Stan Giesbrecht
In over a decade of running Vanderhoof Registered Massage Therapy, Stan Giesbrecht has had the privilege of helping hundreds of Vanderhoof and area residents reduce or eliminate pain related to a variety of conditions. Being able to improve a person's quality of life through massage therapy brings him a great deal of satisfaction and fulfillment in his work.
Stan admits that as a Registered Massage Therapist he could have opened a business anywhere in the province, but he deliberately chose Vanderhoof. "I did a lot of research," he says, "and I saw a need here." Plus, he adds, the community is a vibrant and beautiful place to live and raise a family. Becoming an entrepreneur seemed to be a natural choice for Stan. Most Registered Massage Therapists go into business for themselves, he notes. Some of the things that he appreciates about working for himself include being able to set the tone for his business and being in control of the hours and days that he works.
Stan has seen his share of unique business challenges. What inspires and drives him every day is being able to help improve the quality of life in the way of pain management for his clients where they have not been able to find help elsewhere. He loves the fact that most of the people he treats each day "leave the clinic feeling better than they did when they came in."
When Stan isn't working he is usually spending time with his wife and two children. He also participates in the community through volunteering and supporting various charities and organizations.
