Mel and Christine Torgerson began Spiral Contracting Ltd. before the construction of Highway 16 and Highway 5, at a time when there were multiple mills and many roads to be constructed. Mel and Christine have been in business for an impressive 42 years, it is not surprising that customer satisfaction is the part of the business they are most proud of.

Meet Owen Torgerson
Owen Torgerson oversees operations at Spiral Contracting Ltd. He enjoys the outdoor recreation Valemount has to offer, particularly golfing, hunting and fishing. Always optimistic, Owen feels that small business is the backbone of Valemount and that it will see growth along with the Village. Owen is a supporter of the local Royal Canadian Legion and is involved with the Canoe Mt. Rodeo Association, Valemount Marina Association, Men’s League Hockey, Integrated Community Sustainability Planning Team and Village of Valemount Advisory Planning Commission.
