Meet Kim O'Black & Brad Zeerip
Kim and Brad are certainly no strangers to the tourism industry. The husband and wife duo are carrying on the family tradition of being fourth generation tourism operators!
It was the opportunity for freedom to create a business that supports the lifestyle they love that drew the couple to work for themselves. They are honored to hold themselves to high standards and are proud of the level of service they offer.
“We are able to create and choose how we are going to provide and care for our guests,” says Kim. “There is a satisfaction that comes from enhancing experiences for business travelers and tourists alike. Plus, we get to enjoy our lifestyle.”
Terrace is a genuine community in the best sense of the word and Kim and Brad feel lucky to have such easy access to rivers, mountains, oceans and unspoiled wilderness along with so many like-minded individuals to enjoy them with. “Terrace is intimate; people look you in the eye, smile and take the time to talk to you,” says Kim. “The people are open and honest, it is more personal and you get to know your community.” Setting up shop in Terrace was a no-brainer for the two outdoor enthusiasts and they chose to build their business here because it had both the best salmon/steelhead fishing and the best backcountry skiing in the world.
The duo are proud to share their love and local knowledge with their guests; providing them a home away from home. They love that they are able to offer the bonus of taking in the magnificent views of the Skeena and surrounding mountains as well. When the couple is not working hard on their B&B, you’ll find them in the mountains, on the water or on the trails. Another advantage of living in Terrace is that Brad can ski every month of the year!
You may also bump into the business owners shopping around town at the Terrace Farmers Market, All Season Source for Sports, All Star Shoes, Wild Bike or Sidewalkers. They also love to spend time at Misty River Books or the Terrace Art Gallery and have also been known to attend a stretching session from time to time at the Terrace Yoga Studio.
The twosome say Terrace’s future is growing and bright. Businesses are providing better service than ever before and there is a constant level of support from other small shop owners.
