Meet Ron Robichaud
Meet Ron Robichaud
Ron Robichaud worked for 17 years in the mining industry, working his way up to his most recent position as an environmental superintendent. But the extended periods of time away from home were beginning to take a toll on him, and he longed to be home more regularly for his family. He also had a persistent entrepreneurial bug that had nagged at him for years, so in 2013 Ron decided that it was finally time to own his own business.
As an avid home chef, Ron had been a regular customer and fan of Kitchen Works for many years, so when the opportunity arose for him to purchase it, he felt like it was his destiny. He took over the shop in late 2013, and says he is not only proud to offer residents and visitors of Smithers an extensive collection of quality name-brand kitchen products, he also has better access to the things that he needs to fuel his cooking habit.
Ron has lived in Smithers for almost two decades and says there is no place he would rather live or own a business. He is excited to be a part of the Smithers "Main Street vibe." He adds, "Smithers is a great town with a lot going on." He is especially proud of how his fellow Main Street merchants work so hard to make the downtown a vibrant place and notes that he regularly sees customers coming in from other communities to shop because they like the area so much. Ron is also grateful to his staff, whom he describes as highly professional and thoroughly capable, and points out that he would not be able to do what he does if it wasn't for them.
