Meet Phillipa Beck
Meet Phillipa Beck
Phillipa Beck was no stranger to entrepreneurship before she opened her yoga studio. A professional writer and publisher, she founded and later sold Northword Magazine, a publication that highlights life and business in northern BC. Phillipa has always been passionate about the northern lifestyle and all of the unique and wonderful advantages it offers over city living, like clean fresh air, an expansive and largely unspoiled outdoor playground and limitless recreational opportunities.
While engaged in other business ventures, Phillipa also developed a passion for yoga. She began with an ardent personal practice, and eventually pursued yoga instructor certification training. She began teaching yoga, first casually and then in a more dedicated manner as the years progressed, finally starting Full Circle Yoga in its own dedicated studios in both "Telkwa":https://goo.gl/maps/ea0wj and "Smithers":https://goo.gl/maps/WnGtE locations. She is proud of the studios, which many of the yoga students refer to as their "little oasis," places of calm, peacefulness and tranquillity.
Phillipa is also proud of the yoga communities which have developed in both towns. "Yoga provides an opportunity to slow down and really look at life," states Phillipa. "It's a practice that emphasizes the positive; positive thought, movement, flowing health and calm mind. All of these things amount to a more vibrant life. The profound peace and happiness I see people coming out of class with is hugely rewarding and motivating."
