Willms Sunflowers (LH Willms Inc.)

Agriculture & Food Production

Willms Sunflowers is a floriculture dream. What started 25 years ago as a grain and oilseed farm in Rose Prairie, bloomed into something more in 2017 when owners Les and Hannah Willms and their family started growing sunflowers after inspiration from a family trip.  After their sunny patch caught the eyes of others, the Willms decided to open their field to the public to enjoy in 2020.

In August, when the sunflowers are in bloom, you can tour the fields, take photos, and enjoy the summer sun–as a flower.

After your visit be sure to pick up some great merch at the farm stand and post your photos on social. You can also buy some bundles of fresh cut flowers to take home and add some sunshine to your own space.

Meet Les and Hannah Willms

Owners Les and Hannah Willms have deep roots in farming. Les’s parents bought the farm in 1968, retired in 2002, and sold Les and Hannah the property. Les continued the grain and oilseed legacy by planting his first crop of grain in 1991. They grew their first crop of sunflowers in 2017, and in 2020, the family decided to share their joy with the community by opening the field to the public. Now the smiles they get bring them so much joy it's a tradition on the farm they look forward to continuing for years to come.
