Trishan Food Mart is Prince Rupert’s first and only restaurant dedicated to authentic, fresh, delicious Indian cuisine. Guests can choose from favourites like samosas, butter chicken, lentil dahl, chana masala, biryani, a variety of curry and tandoori dishes and more, plus roti and naan. Each dish is prepared using genuine ingredients like basmati rice, saffron, cardamom, coriander, mint and fresh meats and vegetables so guests experience all of the true, exotic flavours that are characteristic of Indian cuisine. Trishan Food Mart offers fast and convenient take-out service as well as free local delivery on orders of twenty dollars or more.

Meet Rajagopal Sureshraj
Rajagopal Sureshraj immigrated from Sri Lanka to Canada in 2010 in pursuit of new opportunities. While working in a restaurant, people would often ask if there was any place to get Indian food in Prince Rupert. "People love Indian food!" says Rajagopal. In fact, Indian cuisine is growing in popularity all over BC, but there were no Indian restaurants in Prince Rupert. It got Rajagopal thinking and before long he was making plans to start Prince Rupert's first Indian cuisine restaurant. Trishan Food Mart opened in 2014 and to Rajagopal's delight, business has been brisk and locals and visitors alike are loving the food.
Rajagopal is passionate about cooking and serving food the way it should be. He makes everything from scratch every morning. He uses fresh vegetables and real ingredients and spices in every dish. He puts heart into everything he cooks and is proud of the quality of the food.
Rajagopal has been very busy since he opened the restaurant. He works every day, even on days that the restaurant is closed because there is always something that needs to be done. When he does manage to find time to relax, he likes to spend his time at home with his wife and their young son.
