Meet Don McNeil, Owner and Holley Minger, Manager
Small businesses are incredibly important to the small town, says Ocean View Hotel manager Holley Minger. "They offer service on a more personal level." In fact, that's one of the things that she likes best about her job: the ability to get to know her customers and being able to provide them with a level of service that can't be found in big box stores or in big city businesses. Plus, adds Holley, "specialty shops bring diversity to our town." With so many such businesses in Prince Rupert, is helping put this small town on the map and make it a destination for visitors. "It's a great community," Holley declares.
Of course, small business is always challenging, but Holley doesn't mind tackling those challenges head-on. Every day is a learning experience and a new chance for her to invest in her staff. In fact, Holley is very proud of her staff who work hard to serve their customers and make the business successful.
Another thing that Holley appreciates about Prince Rupert besides its familiar, small town feel is its natural setting. It provides the community as well as tourists with a wide variety of outdoor activities to engage in on both land and water. Holley especially enjoys ocean fishing and golfing. Perhaps best of all is that she gets a breath-taking view of the water every time she comes to work.
