Meet Rob Eby
Rob Eby jumped at the chance to join his parents in their furniture business. After working in Vancouver for a year and a half, returning home to Prince Rupert was a pleasant and welcome change. Rob has been operating MacKenzie Furniture since 1996 and still feels blessed to be able to do what he loves every single day.
MacKenzie Furniture is one of Prince Rupert's oldest businesses. It has weathered ups and downs in the economy, technology advances and many other things that can sometimes be challenging for a small business. Rob is proud of his family's and staff's ability to adapt and change along with the times without ever sacrificing the kind of personalized service and quality products that have sustained the business for over 90 years. In fact, the business continues to grow, with recent and ongoing renovations making room for more inventory and a better shopping space. In spite of tough times in the past, Rob senses a renewed optimism among residents and business owners alike. "I believe it's the perfect time to grow my business," he says.
Rob likes spending time outdoors when he's not at work, and of course there is a lot of outdoors to enjoy in Prince Rupert. He often gets his dose of nature while running, and one of his favourite places to run is Rushbrook trail. " Once you're on the trail the city is left behind," he says. Family time is also important and Rob makes lots of time for his when he isn't working.
