Walk-Rite Shoe Store

Walk-Rite Shoes first opened in Williams Lake in 1950. Melanie and Troy Ablitt purchased the Williams Lake store in 2014 and decided to open a second location in downtown Prince George in the Spring of 2016. Lori McDougan manages their Walk-Rite Shoe Store in downtown Prince George. Manager Lori and owners Melanie and Troy all pride themselves on outstanding customer service at Walk-Rite Shoe Store. "We really listen to our customers and help them find something that will really fill their needs," said Melanie, "we have quality brands that customers recognize and we can introduce them to other ones that they just can't find anywhere else."

Store owners Melanie and Troy love doing business in downtown Prince George because the people are so friendly and the area boasts many unique little shops. "The downtown shopping area is such a great treasure," said Melanie, "you never know what you will find." Melanie and Troy have noticed more small businesses opening downtown. "It seems more people want to get away from shopping at the big box stores and they feel the outstanding customer service in privately owned, local stores is well worth their time," said Melanie. She is optimistic and excited for the future of Prince George's downtown small business community.
