Meet Kellie Young

While working as a ski instructor and in retail part-time in Jasper, Alberta, Kellie Young found that she really enjoyed recycling and up-scaling old pieces of furniture that her friends brought to her. Kellie soon discovered that she was great at working with people and all types of unique things and this led to Kellie opening The Niche in Jasper in 2000. She moved back home to Prince George and in June 2016, Kellie re-opened The Niche which is conveniently located right downtown on 5th Avenue near Brunswick Street.

Kellie grew up in Prince George and is thrilled to have returned home. "The people are great," said Kellie, "they're very friendly." She enjoys the parks and green spaces throughout Prince George, especially Cottonwood Island and Moore's Meadow. In her spare time, Kellie enjoys being outdoors exploring the many diverse hiking trails in the area.

"Whether it's decorating a house or making women feel good about themselves, I love taking the time with my customers, dressing them up and showing them how beautiful they are," said Kellie. For Kellie, empowering women is the best thing about operating The Niche. Providing great customer service to each and every customer is something that Kellie and her amazing staff team are fully committed to.

Kellie loves operating her business in downtown Prince George. With new stores and spruced up storefronts, the downtown core is being re-energized. "I am happy to be here," she said, "there's an influx of people coming in and more small businesses opening up. I think downtown Prince George is up and coming."
