Prince George Farmers’ Market Association
The Prince George Farmers’ Market Association has been bringing the best of locally hand-made, grown, or baked products since it first opened in 1995. Starting out with just a small group of vendors, the market has grown to more than 60 vendors.
Guests can find most anything home-grown and hand-made at the Prince George Farmers’ Market, including meat and meat products, fish, fresh produce, perogies, jams and jellies, honey, salsa, baked goods, pet treats, jewellery, soap, tooled leather goods, artwork and handicrafts, all grown or produced in BC. The addition of an indoor market in 2010 made it possible for Prince George residents to enjoy locally-produced goods all year-round. The market has become a favourite local meeting place each Saturday for residents and vendors alike.
The Prince George Farmers’ Market is a member of the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets.

The Prince George Farmers' Market began in 1995 as the vision of a small group of residents. They wanted to offer locals a way to connect with the people who grow and produce food in the Prince George region. At the same time, they hoped to provide more exposure for farmers and food producers and to encourage people to eat locally-produced food. What started out as a handful of vendors has since grown to include more than sixty farmers, growers, bakers, cooks and artisans of all varieties. In 2010, an indoor market was added, making the Prince George Farmers' Market BC's first year-round farmers' market.
Today, the Prince George Farmers' Market is governed by a board of directors and members of the Prince George Farmers' Market Association. Under the board's direction, members help to make decisions and shape the mission and the future of the market. The market is open to any Prince George and area food grower, producer or artisan. Local organizations may also request a table to promote their organization or events.
There is a certain camaraderie among market vendors and society members that are reflective of the family feel of Prince George in general, says market member Roman Muntener. Members love their city and are committed to its prosperity. Roman adds that the market showcases the work of some of the most talented people in BC and that market-goers have been incredibly supportive over the years.
