This hands-on training gives students practical training in bartending and customer service. Students leave the course with a well-rounded experience as well as an impressive resume. Plus, students have the opportunity to earn back the cost of their tuition in tips.

Meet Linda Allen

Linda Allen moved from Vancouver to Prince George in 1993. Back then it was a smaller city, but one that was on the move up. After a few years of living in Prince George, Linda had a good pulse on the business community and some insight into Prince George’s culture. What she discovered was that the town needed a bartending school, which opened in 2004, and a gay-friendly entertainment venue. The idea of a gay-friendly establishment was cutting edge when the club first opened in 2011, and it received a great deal of acclaim and support.

Linda operates her bartending school in a separate area located in the night club facility and it has proved to be a mutually-beneficial partnership. Trainees get to learn in a real bar atmosphere and then put what they've learned into practice with real customers. It offers them unique and practical on-the-job training, plus they get to keep their tips.

Throughout her years living here, Linda has watched the city undergo a number of transformations. She has seen new businesses come in as well as the expansion of services like post-secondary education and health care. All of this has had a positive impact on the community overall. Linda is excited to be a part of the growth and what the future holds for her business and for the community in general.
