"Google can bring you back 100,000 answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one" - Neil Gaiman

Overlooking the mighty Peace River, the Hudson's Hope Public Library is housed in a magnificent log structure that was built as both a tribute to the pioneer days and to the natural surroundings of Hudson’s Hope.

A community focal point which recently celebrated 50 years of educating Hudson's Hope, this eye appeasing structure is not only about books, it’s about community interaction and involvement.

The library offers a wide array of programs and the wonderful staff team are thoroughly involved in the community. Be sure to talk to Nancy Smith for information on inter-library loans and bookkeeping, Toni Sanford to learn more about children's programming and Shellie Howard to become involved or learn more about the young adult programs at the library.

“We have staff that are involved with the Hudson's Hope School Parent's Advisory Council, the Friends of Hudson's Hope Thrift Store, the Peace Valley Community Church, the Bible Fellowship, the Hudson's Hope Fall Fair, the Farmer's Market and the Hudson's Hope Historical Society,” says Amber Norton, Hudson's Hope Library Director.

“I’m so proud of our amazing staff,” says Amber. “All of our diverse backgrounds allow us to provide superb programming and the best service for our community.”

According to Amber, the one on one interaction that you get in a small town is next to none and Hudson's Hope is the epitome of rural life: clean air, nature and caring people. It really takes a village and everyone watches out for everyone else in what they lovingly call 'the playground of the peace.'
