Ralph and Debra like the close-knit community of Fort St. John. They have lots of family nearby and love to spend time with their grandkids. Ralph and Debra appreciate the friendly locals and the relaxed atmosphere. "There's not so much hustle and bustle as in a bigger city," said Ralph.

Ralph and Debra own and operate RTR Carpentry and Roofing. They started their business in 1998 and have enjoyed the flexibility being entrepreneurs allows. "I wanted to be able to set my own schedule so I could be freed up to partake in all family events," said Ralph. Ralph and Debra are proud of their business and the many satisfied customers they have had over their years in operation. Ralph likes that his business provides him with the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and different people throughout the area.

Ralph notes Fort St. John has seen considerable growth and diversity in the local business community in recent years. Through his business, Ralph interacts with many local businesses, their owners and their staff. "They all have a gem or two working there," said Ralph of the staff of Fort St. John businesses. The future of Fort St. John is bright and Ralph points out it is a "very resilient community."
