She has a passion for hair styling and made a deliberate choice to become a J Beverly Hills salon so that she could offer her clients glamorous products and techniques for their hair. Michelle even travels to Los Angeles twice per year to upgrade her skills so that she is always on top of the latest hair trends and products, and she has felt the appreciation of her loyal Fort Nelson customers who are enthusiastic about what the salon has to offer.

While she loves big city style, Michelle prefers life in the small town. Fort Nelson has been her home for two decades and she has raised her now adult children here. She spends as much time as possible with her kids and also enjoys running and golfing when she has down time.

Michelle opened her studio in 2003 after designing and renovating it herself along with the help of a friend. She describes the decor as "a mix of old and new" and is proud of how it turned out. Since she first opened she has seen ups and downs in the local economy. But she knows that the people and the business owners of Fort Nelson are resilient and she feels very optimistic about the future for small business in Fort Nelson. "Good things are on the horizon," she states, believing that Fort Nelson will continue to grow.
