Meet Lori Gane & James Chicago

While enduring the hustle and bustle of big city living for far too long, Lori and James made the executive decision to trade it all in for a slower pace. After meeting a couple of years prior, they mutually had their sights set on Valemount, with its spectacular scenery and quaint, friendly community. In 2019 Lori and James made the big move to BC's north, and haven't looked back. With an extensive background in bookkeeping and computers, the pair naturally had an obvious path when it came to curating a livelihood in their new community. Lori graduated in accounting with distinctions from Grant MacEwan University, and James was first introduced to computing in 1983, unofficially dubbing him a pioneers in the field. They both love the flexiblity of being their own bosses, and feel that small businesses are the backbone of a community and the country beyond. Lori and James are looking forward to getting to know more residents in the months to come, and exploring the vast wilderness of the Robson Valley. “It's like stepping back to a simpler time, when people helped each other,” shares Lori. “The scenery isn't too bad, either!”
