The Dawson Creek Art Gallery is run by the South Peace Arts Society which was established in 1948, becoming a registered charitable organization in 1962. In 1982, the society purchased a grain elevator which they restored to become their new home. Officially opening on October 23rd, 1983, the gallery has fostered the growth, awareness and appreciation of the visual arts in Dawson Creek and surrounding area. In 2014, the art gallery received the Architecture Foundation of British Columbia’s ‘Best Building’ award.

The Dawson Creek Art Gallery is situated in NAR Park (Mile ‘0’ of the Alaska Highway), which is a main tourist hub attracting visitors from all over the world that are travelling to Alaska. The Grainery Artisan and Gift Shop carries a variety of handmade items by local, regional, and national artisans, as well as a selection of souvenir items.

In May of each year, the Dawson Creek Art Gallery hosts an art auction gala, which is their main fundraiser of the year, so be sure to attend and support the gallery’s annual fundraising event!
