Country Lane Gifts

Patricia Zerr has worked in retail for more than three decades. She always enjoyed the challenges that came with the job as well as the opportunities to constantly meet new people. During those years she often dreamed of owning her own retail shop, and finally in 2013 she was able to turn that dream into a reality. Since opening Country Lane Gifts in 2013, she has faced many new challenges, but is grateful to finally be living her dream and shaping her own future.

Patricia moved to Dawson Creek more than 35 years ago. She has always loved the sense of community that is so pervasive in Dawson Creek and knew it would be a wonderful place to raise a family. She did just that, bringing up three children here who are now grown and starting to raise their own families in Dawson Creek. "This is our home and I want it to be a place for people to enjoy for years to come," says Patricia.

Having lived here for so long, Patricia has seen numerous changes in the community and a great deal of growth. In recent years, Patricia has noticed a shift in attitude toward supporting local small businesses. In spite of some big box stores coming in, Patricia believes that residents are making a greater effort to "shop small," and it shows in the enthusiasm that permeates the downtown core. Patricia notes that downtown shops have many unique, high quality products, and the personalized service they offer just doesn't compare to the big box.
