Meet Ramona Davidson
Ramona Davidson's contract job was coming to end in the late 1990s. Never one to sit still and wait for things to happen, Ramona began brainstorming her next career move. She wondered whether the community of Chetwynd would be interested in a weekly newsletter specifically geared toward Chetwynd news and advertising. She began asking around town and her idea was met with a lot of enthusiasm and support. Soon she was publishing Coffee Talk Express out of a spare bedroom in her home. As the business grew, she moved the operation into a small cabin on her property and then a small store front location downtown.
In that more visible location, people would often stop in and ask Ramona if they could purchase office supplies from her. Ramona came to realize that there was another niche that needed to be filled. She later opened up The Pencil Box in the same location.
Ramona is quick to credit much of the success of her business ventures to others in her life. "My husband Brian backs me 100%," she points out. Ramona's mother was also one of her biggest cheerleaders, often offering practical help like getting dinner on the table when Ramona was working late. She also gives much credit to her staff members, including those who deliver The Coffee Talk Express within the various communities it serves.
