Meet The Library Team

The Chetwynd Public Library first took up official residence in the community back in 1960. In the previous year, members of The Parent Teachers Association donated a large sum of books that became the first collection and inspiration for future book lovers. Ever since that day The Chetwynd Public Library has become a staple in the community, providing “engaging, welcoming spaces to support discovery, creativity and connections.”

Ana Peasgood, the library’s director, is pleased to be able to offer a more intimate, face-to-face experience for her patrons. She and her team are proud of the welcoming space they have created and are driven to make each and every person feel at ease. “We are community led and with that have an open door policy for ideas and community engagement. Smiles tell the story and we are lucky to have such an active community using our space,” states Ana.

Living and working in Chetwynd has had its advantages. The team at the Chetwynd Public Library loves the slower pace lifestyle and just how safe they feel in their small town. It’s a place of belonging, with a real sense of warmth and attachment. The same sentiment is exactly what the team have created with their inclusive library services- and best of all, they’re all free!
