St. George Hotel

Meet Miss Saya
Miss Saya's rural beginnings and varied professional background helped characterize the role she plays today in the fabric of Barkerville. Miss Saya loves antiques and fine art and is a talented interior decorator. “I’ve taken great care in choosing items that are unusual, fun and true to the period, creating an authentic feel and charm to the St. George Hotel,” said Miss Saya.
Tea time in the parlour is one of Miss Saya’s greatest pleasures. Here she gets to unwind and connect with guests after their day exploring the historic townsite. She is happy to answer her guests' questions about Barkerville and will gladly spin an entertaining yarn about life in a northern time warp.
Breakfast at the St. George is an event unto itself. Miss Saya admits to being terrified of the kitchen in the first year. "I had never cooked for so many people in my life!" With the help of some savvy staff and the encouragement of her guests, she remains surprised and thrilled with how well breakfast always turns out.
