Meet Tanya Shymko

Meet Tanya Shymko

After many years of corporate work resulting in excess overtime, undue stress and missed quality time with her family, burnout became a harsh reality for Tanya Shymko. Lured by the compelling urge to follow her lifelong passion and escape the exhausting grind, Tanya took a leap of faith and opened her very own art studio in 2013. She now enjoys a fantastic work/life balance, allowing her time to take the occasional holiday, to volunteer and to revel in all the precious moments with her children.

Tanya was born and raised in the quaint community of Quesnel. She left after high school to pursue opportunities further north, only to return to her roots some years later. Officially a resident again as of 2018, the artistic mother and entrepreneur is thankful to be back in her hometown. “There is no place like home,” beams Tanya. “It's beautiful here, and the people in Quesnel are always so friendly and welcoming.”

As an artistic soul through and through, Tanya spends much of her free time experimenting with colour and creativity. She is driven to teach others to truly see the world around them and capture it with vivid imagination. According to Tanya, this practice promotes mindfulness, while also improving memory and attention to detail. Be like Tanya and 'add some colour to your life!'
