The Beertema brothers have lived in Hazelton for most of their lives. They love the scenery and appreciate the rural lifestyle of their hometown. When they are not busy at work they both like to get on their quads and explore the back country especially the trails around 9 Mile and Bell Lake.
Hazelton is ideally located with both the Bulkley and the Skeena Rivers nearby and there are numerous scenic back country roads that allow access into historic spots with stunning vistas. Both Henny and Peter like living in the Hazeltons and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
In 1987, the brothers took over Beertema's from their parents who operated a store in Hazelton, with a branch in Smithers for many years. Beertema's is truly family owned and operated with historic roots in the community.
