Meet Andy and Uli Roessler
Meet Andy and Uli Roessler
"There are not many places left that have so much beauty and are not overrun with people," says Uli Roessler of the town of Fort St. James. Its spectacular location and gorgeous scenery still remain largely untouched by urban development, making it an ideal place for vacationers to come. The smaller population makes it a pleasant place to live and work and yet still offer the most important amenities like health care, shopping and other services. "People are laid back here," remarks Uli, and the smaller population makes it feel like "a big family." And, she adds, "the people of Fort St. James always help each other in times of need."
Uli and her husband, Andy, decided to capitalize on those fantastic qualities by buying Stuart Lodge over two decades ago when employment was scarce and they wanted to make a life for themselves in Fort St. James. It turned out to be a very good decision for the couple, who grew to enjoy the independence that comes with business ownership.
Of course, it comes with a lot of responsibility too, but the Roesslers appreciate being able to make their own business decisions and reap the benefits of the hard work. They are proud of the improvements they have made to the site over the years. "Our place looks better and offers more than when we came here 17 years ago - it is a very unique place." Of course, few things in life beat a waterfront view and open access to the great outdoors, which is where they're likely to be found when they aren't busy entertaining their guests.
