Meet Tim & Janine Potter

Meet Tim & Janine Potter

Tim and Janine Potter decided that they wanted to make an investment in their community, so they purchased Lenscutters in 2013, a business that was well-established in Williams Lake. Their decision to buy the business came from a desire to provide for a more secure future for themselves and their family and to be able to make decisions that would shape the growth of the business. Since purchasing Lenscutters, the couple has added a new aspect to it, a collection service for drug screening. It began as an idea, and it was a risk that has paid off for the couple.

The Potter's are long-time residents of Williams Lake, and owning a local business allows them the opportunity to give back to the community that they love. "After living in this town for 15 years I get to service and help so many people that I know," Janine says. And in spite of some of the uncertainties that Williams Lake is facing, the couple feels hopeful for and positive about the future of local business. For her own part, Janine tries to do all of her own business locally. "We have so many good people that offer great services," Janine declares, and she is grateful for those locals who have so graciously supported their business.

Tim continues to work his own full time job while Janine manages the day-to-day affairs of the store. It makes for a very busy life, but one thing that the Potters appreciate about Williams Lake is its laid-back lifestyle so that when they do have time off they actually get to enjoy it. One of their favourite things to do in their free time is to hang out with their grandchildren.
