Meet Nechako Caterers/Village Inn

Village Inn/Nechako Caterers owner, Paul Stevens, claims that his venture into business ownership was meant to be. Entrepreneurship was built into his nature, and one of the things that Paul likes most about working for himself is the flexibility that it allows. Paul is able to be creative and set and follow his own vision. He is also able to control the hours that he works so that he is able to enjoy more of the things that he loves, like fishing, gardening, scuba diving, flying and travelling.

Village Inn/Nechako Caterers has been in business in Vanderhoof for almost half a century. To last that long in this business, according to Paul, means providing superior customer service and putting heart, soul and a lot of flavour into the company's menu. It also means recruiting and training quality, professional staff members like hard-working manager, Shelley Funk (pictured here). Additionally, regular menu updates keep the business fresh, just like the ingredients that Village Inn/Nechako Caterers' cooks use in its various dishes.

Paul has seen some businesses come and go over the years but believes that attentive service and a high-quality product will always prevail no matter what kind of business a company is in. Ultimately, he notes, it is the customers who will spread the word and it is their support that has helped Nechako Caterers remain in business for so long. The support of the community is the reason that Paul regularly donates to local groups and events, which in the past has included Santa's Anonymous and the Canadian Cancer Society.
