Ashlee and Josh, pictured with their family, recognize Taylor is a wonderful place to live. The pace of life is slow and the community members are always willing to stop and talk to one another. They are confident raising their children in a place where people are friendly and always looking out for one another. “With such a supportive, caring community, we can only see more people wanting to become a part of it and adding more and more potential to bring in more small businesses,” said Ashlee.

In their opinion, a niche seems to be carving itself out for small businesses and local growers. Places such as Farmbound and Hip Peace Produce are examples of businesses demonstrating, “their pride in the place they live.” Besides those small businesses, Josh and Ashlee appreciate the helpful staff at the North Peace Credit Union, the active community enrichment happening at the Taylor Community Church and the cute homemade clothing at Captivating Design by Sandee.

Ashlee and Josh decided to start their business venture for the flexibility it would give them to parent their young children. They value their family time immensely and find making their own schedules allows them the most time together. Since starting, they have found Rapha Landscaping + to be a fulfilling and rewarding business. “I love connecting with customers and I love seeing them satisfied and even ecstatic over the change in their landscapes,” said Ashlee.

Turning undesirable outdoor spaces into beautiful sanctuaries has always been a key component to Ashlee’s wellbeing. The business name ‘Rapha’ means ‘God is Healer.’ Ashlee feels that “God truly, deeply healed my heart through landscaping.” By spending time creating and maintaining beauty through landscaping, Ashlee feels fulfilled in her work and her clients feel satisfied with the work she does. Both Ashlee and Josh enjoy seeing their past projects establish themselves over time and the maturing beauty of their landscaping throughout town.
