Michael loves living on Haida Gwaii because of the pristine and remote setting. His love for wilderness living, hunting, fishing and an appreciation of the arts brought him to the island permanently in 2009. He enjoys fishing and hunting and the fantastic quality of life that Haida Gwaii offers, especially the relatively easy access to wild foods like fish and deer. As an aside, Michael adds that he has held the record since 2011 in Haida Gwaii's Paul Bentley Memorial Fishing Derby with a 42 pound spring salmon.
