The Makerie

Arts-Family Activites-Food & Beverage

Feeling crafty? Take a trip to the Makerie, an oh-so fabulous coffee bar-craft space combo, for makers, crafters, coffee connoisseurs and baked treat lovers. Located in Downtown Prince George, The Makerie is a space where you can flex your creative muscles on a drop-in basis, with an ever-changing craft menu, or sign up for a special workshop (think paint nights or macrame classes).

The Makerie has an integrated coffee bar, featuring Pull’s wood-fired coffee, roasted in the world’s oldest Probat coffee roaster and brewed on a custom-built manual espresso machine. The Makerie has a creative (and traditional) menu of drinks and artisan teas, hot and cold.

In addition to the coffee, The Makerie has partnered with Goldfield Bakery (a traditional 1930’s bakery located in the world-famous historic town of Barkerville) to offer all kinds of tasty treats.

Whether you’re looking for a space to create, have a fantastic cup of coffee, or a sweet treat, The Makerie is the place to be.

Meet Kim Hayhurst

Owner Kim Hayhurst (or as she calls herself, Master of Creative Chaos), spent the better part of 20 years working in the public sector and was looking for a way to get back to her creative roots. Kim started the Makerie to create social connections within the creative community, fueled by a positive and uplifting vibe (plus lots of caffeine).
Kim was born and raised in Prince George. She has watched the community evolve over the years and become a community that all should be so, so proud of. Kim has raised her family in Prince George and is investing in the future through The Makerie. She hopes that it is a difference maker and brings more positive energy to an already wonderful place to live, work and play.
