Meet the Port Clements Historical Society
Meet the Port Clements Historical Society
The Port Clements Historical Society is a local non-profit society that runs the Port Clements Museum. The society’s goal is to archive local historic documents and maintain heritage artifacts in the museum for the enjoyment of present and future residents. The Port Clements Museum is attractive, educational, and hosts the community’s Visitor Information site.
As active members of the Port Clements, the Society’s most recent initiative is the development of the St. Marks Gift & Gallery, which is located in a local heritage building. This newest addition to the community is run by volunteers and provides an exciting location for talented artists and craftspeople to sell their creations.
Many hours of volunteer work has gone into the opening of St. Mark’s Gift & Gallery including the refinishing of the floors with beautiful stenciled rugs in the church proper and a stylized compass displaying local points of interest in the upstairs loft/reading room.
Port Clements is a hidden gem centrally located on Graham Island with great potential to grow local tourism businesses.
