Bayview Market is Haida Gwaii’s one-stop shopping destination with old-fashioned customer service. Located in Port Clements overlooking Masset Inlet, Bayview Market has everything locals and visitors need, from groceries to home decor to souvenirs and gift items. Visitors can even grab a quick sandwich. Bayview Market has been a part of the local community for over 60 years and is one of the oldest remaining grocery stores on the islands.

Meet Beverly Lore
Bayview Market has been a part of the local community for more than six decades and even spent a few years as a clubhouse for war veterans. Owner Beverly Lore (pictured here with her staff, far right) had worked at Bayview Market for several years when the previous owners decided to sell it. Rather than see it turn over to off-island investors, Beverly decided to buy the business herself so that it would remain an authentic part of the island that she loved. She's owned and operated it since 2008 and she and the rest of the store's staff are like an extended family and are deeply involved in the community. They volunteer for local athletics, churches, the seniors' society and even the fire department. "We are in a tight-knit community who support and depend on one another," says Beverly. She is proud to be able to provide jobs for people who live here as well as provide a necessary service to locals. Being in a small community, Beverly and her staff are able to provide personalized service to their regular customers. "We know their preferences and have good relationships with all of them," she states.
Bev loves the sense of community that draws everyone together. She and her staff are also outdoors enthusiasts and very connected to the land and environment. Beverly especially likes to get outside and go for walks along the beach. During her non-working hours she also enjoys relaxing with a good book and spending time with her family.
