Meet Beatrice & Mike Galliazzo
Meet Beatrice & Mike Galliazzo
Lillooet Feed Garden & Floral Centre was purchased by the Galliazzo's in 1993. At that time, it was primarily a feed store, hosting a local veterinary clinic until the late 1990s. Past owners have contributed to its changes over the years and when the Galliazzo's became the owners, the store was transformed again. With additions such as a garden centre, floral shop, giftware, Sears catalogue services, high-quality pet foods and supplies, it has developed and progressed into the wonderful community store that it is today. Meet our staff (pictured to the right): Taylor, Eva, Anna and Darci (missing from the photo, Cedar).
Beatrice was originally from Taylor, BC and started coming to Lillooet for the summers when she was a teenager. The first time Beatrice drove into Lillooet she was struck by its beauty of the mountains, the river and the cloudless sky. Mike's family relocated to Lillooet from Brexton, BC and the couple met while out on a four-wheel trip in the back country of Lillooet. They lived in several different towns before moving back to Lillooet, where they raised their three sons, Greg, Blaine and William. With 35 years of marriage, the majority of it spent in Lillooet, they can't see themselves living anywhere but here. "It just grows on you - you miss it when you're away and can't wait to get back!"
Active members of Lillooet, the Galliazzo family love where they live. "The scenery, the people, the close-knit feel," said Beatrice, “we don't even have a four-way stop or traffic light, but we have the services to keep our people safe." Beatrice and Mike are both members of the Lillooet and District Rescue Society and state the local hospital, the doctors, the nurses and the First Responders provide high-quality care for their small town.
A beautiful area near Lillooet the couple love is Seton Lake, where Beatrice and Mike have had property for years. "Seton Lake has been a big part of our lives and our children's lives," she said, "and now it’s extending into our grandchildren's lives." She appreciates all the fun times her family has had, and still has, at Seton Lake. "For me," said Beatrice, "every time I drive back into Lillooet I am amazed at its beauty and feel like I'm coming home."
