Meet Liz Kennedy
When you own a small town business, you're likely to run into clients on the streets and sidewalks. For professional photographer Liz Kennedy, there is no greater feeling than bumping into someone she's photographed and having them tell her how much they love the pictures she took. "Something like that is unlikely to happen in a larger urban setting," says Liz, and it gives her a deep sense of satisfaction in her work.
The Cariboo and Quesnel in particular have a unique feel that Liz enjoys. It's a combination of many things: the ease with which one can get to know their neighbours, the balance between space and community, the warmth in the downtown core. For Liz, it's also "the ability to take pride in where I live and know that each person makes a difference to that community."
Liz has always been intrigued by the world around her. She was a teenager when she first picked up a camera and started taking pictures. The beauty of the Cariboo continues to inspire her work today. Being in business for herself has allowed her the opportunity and the freedom to expand her skills and explore the art of photography in ways that are meaningful to her and which her clients appreciate. "I love that I am able to expand my creative reach while providing lasting memories to those who require my services," says Liz. "It's a win-win!"
