Fraser Lake Community Market
The Fraser Lake Community Market has been bringing together local artists, crafters, farmers and cooks together with other community members since 2012. The market began as a grassroots movement of local citizens who desired to showcase the talents and skills of other locals in a way that could be appreciated by all community members and which would contribute to the overall local economy. Each Friday afternoon market features a variety of locally-grown produce and meat products, home cooking and baking and local artwork and hand-crafted items.

Trevor Tapp is happy to call the community of Fraser Lake home. "Fraser Lake is a wonderful place to live," said Trevor, "it's small, friendly and there's always lots to do". Together with his wife Janice, Trevor operates Copper T Ranch and they are immersed in the agricultural community. Trevor has been involved in the Fraser Lake Community Market since its inception in 2012 and is now the president of the Fraser Lake Community Market's volunteer board of directors. Trevor enjoys working with fellow volunteer executive members and being a vendor at the weekly markets. "My favourite part of the market is the camaraderie, seeing regular vendors, returning customers and socializing with new customers," said Trevor.
Trevor and the other volunteer members are actively involved in the community and have a passion for promoting local food production and the interests of local artisans. He points out the market is ideally located in Fraser Lake in a nice grassy area with good exposure. The market is a great spot for people to meet up, shop and spend time together. In the few years the market has been operating, Trevor has noticed that both the traffic through the market and the amount of vendors have increased. The community has been tremendously supportive of the market and its vendors, and residents are eager for the market to succeed.
