Trail's great-grandfather was one of Fort St. John's early settlers and his daily life is well-rooted in the community. Trail lives rurally near Charlie Lake with his wife and three children. They have horses and are frequently involved in Fort St. John's annual fall fairs and equestrian events. As a family they enjoy skiing and supporting cultural events in Fort St. John. Trail feels connected to the many ongoing events at the Cultural Centre and the Lido Theatre and gets involved in musical events such as open mic nights and outdoor musical performances.
Trail got into the music business at 15 years old when he started a DJ company. He expanded his business to event rentals and again to the installation of home theater and PA systems. In 1997 Trail won a Community Futures entrepreneurial award for his ever expanding business. Trail realized a storefront was needed and opened up his music store in Fort St. John in 2004. He has done very well with capturing the top brand names for all things musical and supplying good quality musical supplies and accessories to Fort St. John and area.
"My goal is to keep the music alive in this town," said Trail. He is proud of his staff for their great customer service and community involvement. Trail knows good displays are important in his music store and appreciates System Sound Source's well-lit display and clean presentation of gear.
Trail feels a positive connection to the people of Fort St. John. "I find it a very loyal community to operate a business in," said Trail, "customers support local shopping."
Systems Sound Source gives back through monthly customer prize draws and often donates their time and talent to the many musical or cultural events in the community. Trail is thankful that Fort St. John is a musical community and always encourages those quieter musicians to step out and share their talent with the supportive community.
