Meet Anne Clayton

Anne Clayton worked for several years in the real estate appraisal industry for a variety of government agencies throughout northern BC. She also did independent real estate appraisals during those years, and it gave her a taste of entrepreneurship and ultimately inspired her to strike out on her own. She started Aspen Grove Property Services in 2007 and is enjoying the challenges of not just providing a valuable service but also the independence that comes with business ownership.

Operating this type of business in the Peace region means that the work Anne does is varied, making each day different and exciting. One of her favourite parts of her job is advocating on behalf of land owners dealing with oil and gas companies trying to establish pipelines on their properties. "We are able to provide them info and help them negotiate and make deals in their best interests."

Anne has lived in Dawson Creek for two decades. She was initially drawn to the area, in part, for its natural beauty and incredible four seasons. She appreciates the friendly residents and the fact that everything a person would want to do is close by, including trails, lakes and outdoor activities. She adds that there are many community events and organizations for people to participate in. She keeps very busy herself when she isn't working, particularly with the community band, where she plays bass clarinet, as well as a jazz band, where she plays stand up bass. Anne also spends a lot of time with her two pitbulls, going on nature walks in the beautiful Dawson Creek outdoors.
