Meet Alanah Mountifield

As a life-long resident of Haida Gwaii, Alanah Mountifield is fully immersed in island life and loves all aspects of living in her isolated, rural community. She feels as though her fellow residents act like one big, extended family who look out for one another. The natural surroundings are unprecedented anywhere else in the world, and even when the weather becomes stormy, the inherent beauty shines through in all seasons.

One of the reasons Alanah first became inspired to open up her very own accommodation business was her desire to share the majestic natural surroundings with the world. Her goal is to provide a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming accommodation where her guests can really relax and feel at home.

In her spare time, Alanah enjoys involving herself with community affairs. She serves as a board member of The Daajing Giids City Community Club and is known to dabble in the local music scene. Singing and songwriting are passions, along with paddle boarding, hiking, star gazing and many other outdoor recreational activities. “I'm out on the water or in the forest every chance I get!” says Alanah.
