Meet Rose Unruh
For Rose, there’s no question as to what she loves most about Burns Lake. It’s most certainly “the people!” Several years ago, she identified a need in the community for a “healthier alternative” to the conventional fast-food choices available. With 26 years of food-service already behind her, Rose decided to venture out on her own to create an establishment that catered to the specific needs of today’s, ‘people-on-the-go’. Whether it is an organic snack, a fair trade coffee, a gluten or dairy free meal, or simply something fresh and nourishing, there is always unique options for everyone!
Being able to share her passion and creativity through her “alternative” menu and seeing the delightful smiles of satisfied customers that stop by the shop to enjoy a latte or a delicious sandwich has made owning and operating her own business quite rewarding. When she is not busy enjoying the great outdoors or playing hockey at the local arena, Rose finds ample opportunities to support a variety of local organizations- namely, the Burns Lake Mountain Bike Club, the Burns Lake Vortex Women’s Hockey team as well as the local Arts Council.
